Background

Offshore Tanzania and Mozambique have become one of the premium hydrocarbon plays worldwide over the past years with approximately 100 TCF of gas discovered in deep water turbidite sands related to the Rufiji and Ruvuma River deltas.  The Nyuni PSA was renewed over an increased area which gave Bounty additional acreage over highly prospective deep water targets.  The key to success in this area which has enabled so many successful wells to be drilled for a small number of dry holes is direct seismic detection of gas charged sands.

There are several large leads with seismic amplitude anomalies within Nyuni Block including one on the eastern margin with potential for 1.3 TCF of gas in place.  This lead lies directly up dip and in the same Formation as proven deep water gas fields at Chewa and Pweza.

Kiliwani North Development

Kiliwani North 1 was a discovery made by the Nyuni Block partners and it tested at 40 MMcfg/day in an extension of the Songo Songo Neocomian (Early Cretaceous Age) reservoir.

The Kiliwani North Pool has 45 BCF of certified reserves behind pipe and is located only 3.5 km. from the Songo Songo gas plant and pipeline to Dar es Salaam.

Commercialisation of the Kiliwani North gas pool has been delayed by contractual issues and will await the completion of a new pipeline from South Tanzania which is underway and scheduled for 2014 completion.
